One of my greatest supporters who has now become my youngest friend 'Lerato' recently wrote to me and taught me about THE SIGNIFICANCE OF LIGHT in relations to challenges and difficult times. The light can shine but it has to shine differently for certain things to stand out.

"When you go through tough times its like moving out of the sun light into the bright lights at night - all your problems standout and so does everything else about you, including your true beauty". If you want to see the true beauty of a place you have to go there at night and see all the light shine over that place - think about Signalhill in Cape Town; its true beauty only comes to light at night. DON'T ALLOW FAILURE TO TAKE OVER WHEN THE BRIGHT LIGHTS ARE SHINING OVER YOU!

There are times in life when you feel like you are carrying weight which should not be on your shoulders - those times have pulled so many people down. It makes me remember a scene from Dreamgirls where one of the girls tells another "I will not stand back and take attitude from a second rate diva".... Its really funny how people continuously take chances with other peoples lives. NEVER ALLOW PEOPLE TO RE-DIRECT YOUR VISION - Always stay focused and continue on the journey that God has planned for your life. Read Big dreamers - 'What's Right With Your Life'. "We live in a society and world system that has a few good role models, and young people can end up looking up to certain people for the wrong reasons. I've decided I want to be a good role model to those who look up to me. I'm not putting myself under pressure, but I'm merely taking a responsibility within a social system where many couldn't be bothered". -- Uyanda Mbuli --

What does being a good role model mean? "To me, its about having an honorable integrity, excellent spirit, pleasant deminer and joyous persona. I'm not saying I'm perfect but I will walk on the line of perfection so that I can uphold the word integrity for those who look up to me".

"This week I learned such a powerful revelation - The reason why we have the holy spirit is for the holy ghost to carry our anger, disappointments and dreams! When someone does something wrong to you, you don't have to argue or fight with them - just forgive them, and release them to the holy spirit. This is what God expects of us and its the best thing you can do for yourself. Carrying the burden of anger is so draining, but releasing it to the holy spirit sets you free!"
----Uyanda Mbuli---

Marianne Williamson says, "The ego is our worst enemy and it is the cause of internal emptiness and negativity". Internal emptiness and negativity is an illusion - it doesn't exist. Forget about the 'ego' and accept the 'holy spirit' which leads to joy and inner peace.

Under the guidance of the holy spirit: I've learned to humble myself, to be thankful of God's blessings everyday, not be judge mental of other people, always remain positive and see good in all situations.

'If your gifts and talents take you where your character can not keep you, they will collapse.' I once listened to a man of God preaching about the importance of being centered and having a solid character when pursuing your dreams. He said "Your gifts and talents should be in line with your character for you to progress in life."

It is important that you remain centered, you keep a stable and solid character during the process of growing your talents. Don’t loose yourself and your character in the pursuit of your dreams – God is always with you and me on our journey.

To know your vision is about learning the art of discipline – ‘Discipline is Liberation’. It is the act of being fully committed that you can let go; being so deeply connected that you can de-touch. When you are disciplined enough you become committed to your vision mentally, physically, emotional and psychologically – until you get to this point you are not truly in control.

In Jane Fonda’s biography: my life so far – She says discipline and liberation means acknowledging your demons and making room for stillness in your life. Creating an environment for your inner voice to lead you.

YandaWorld congratulates Nandi Mayekiso from PE, our March winner for the make-over and red carpet outfit. You could be next!!! More details on Win With YandaWorld.

I met a beautiful young lady last week who asked me, where I get the strength of my character from? Most importantly she wanted to know how I continue to progress in my life regardless of some people trying so hard to pull me down. She told me if she had a small piece of that her life would be so much easier.

I told her that I believe in the love of God above ALL other things. To believe in the 'Love of God' is to know that miracles do happen and dreams do come true. It is the ability to find the courage & strength that lies from within ourselves; and the knowledge that God is with you ALL the time!

As I shared a part of my personal being with her I recalled the words of Henry Miller, who once said "Whether we act as cowards or heroes, life moves on. Everything we shut our eyes to, everything we run away from, everything we deny, demigrate or despise, serves to defeat us in the end. What seems nasty, painful and evil can become a source of beauty, joy and strength if faced with an open mind." EVERY MOMENT IS A GOLDEN ONE FOR THOSE WHO HAVE THE VISION TO RECOGNISE IT AS SUCH.

There will always be people out there that do not wish us well, even Oprah Winfrey once said this. What should matter to me and you are the plans that God has for our lives, our dreams, our inner peace and our joy! NEVER LET ANYONE STILL YOUR JOY FROM YOU!

Eleanor Roosevelt once said that 'The Future belongs to those who believe in the power of their dreams'. And she is so right! We spend way too much time holding on to yesterday's achievements, victories and failures. We forget that, those were yesterdays news. Today is a different day and we have to create new victories and record new failures.

Oprah Winfrey said "I have a lot of things to prove to myself. One is that I can live my life fearlessly. Each of us are responsible for creating who we believe ourselves to be and that responsibility is not a burden BUT a privilege". Fear has held back a lot of people from pursuing their dreams. The word of God says we have the spirit of power and a sound mind; so why do people still fear?! The difference between failure and success is 'attitude' - you can learn from failure and become even a bigger success.

BIG DREAMERS, we have to make the right choices in our lives - the kind that will take us forward not backwards! When we have the courage to think for ourselves, the strength to accept what is and what's not, the commitment and discipline to make a difference, then we are free... There's a universal prayer that says 'God grant me the serenity to accept the things I can not change; the courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference'. Love is indeed kind and skin deep!

Uyanda would like to wish all her supporters a wonderful and fulfilling St. Valentines Day & month! In the book A Return to Love by Marianne Williamson; she tells us about how to do everything out of love and how to make our hearts sing. "I have heard it said that living out of our vision is more powerful than living out of our circumstances. Our emotional imperative is indeed skin deep; it is our point of power - 'the source of our brilliance'. Our power is not rationally or willfully called forth. It's a divine dispensation, an act of grace". -Marianne Williamson-
The most beautiful thing about love is the experience of giving love - loving your family, your friends, your community and that special someone in your life. Its not so much about how or who you love; its more about the experience of loving!
