Uyanda is a full-time public servant in the Gauteng Government as the Head of Communications for the Department of Economic Development. She is formerly the General Manager for Marketing, Communications and Customer Relationship Management at the Gauteng Liquor Board. She was the Deputy Chairperson of the Gauteng Film Commission and set on the Board of Tara Hospital. Mbuli is one of the Ambassadors of international cosmetic label “La Mer” and as a teenager Mbuli collected a number of beauty titles leading to her being the first black women to be crowned Mrs Globe South Africa in 2005.
