Biography:


Owner of Diamond Face Couture – Uyanda Mbuli, is at the fore-front of changing the fashion landscape in South Africa. She launched the clothing label DFC.

She is the Head of Marketing, Communications & Customer Relationship Management at the Gauteng Liquor Authority 'GLA' - she is currently working with a team of skilled individuals to transform and regulate the liquor industry.

 

Uyanda also known as 'Yanda' to her family & friends is the host and anchor of African Giants on SABC2. Mbuli was one of the top local celebrities selected to compete in Season IV of Strictly Come Dancing on SABC2.

Widely known as a woman of many talents and skills, she is an Integrated Marketing Communications Specialist, a Businesswoman, TV Personality, Designer & High-Profile Socialite, Uyanda Mbuli was the first black women to be crowned Mrs. South Africa Globe in 2005.

She spent 3 years on the Board of Gauteng Film Commission (GFC) : one of the key funding institutions for local television & film productions. The South African Entertainment Industry is currently breaking new ground in the filming of independent movies & local drama properties, and Uyanda being part of the Board along side other board members plays an instrumental role in the positioning of GFC. She resigned after being promoted to a Deputy Chairperson of the Board to focus on GLA & DFC.

She is also involved in public healthcare and sits on the Board of TARA Hospital.

Mbuli is popularly known as the brainy beauty who Managed SABC1 Publicity & Events Division during its Yamampela transformation – SABC1 is South Africa’s number one television channel with 15 million viewers on a weekly basis. She was specifically recruited to be the Publicity Manager for SABC1 so that she can be the face of the channel, which lead to her being crowned a RED CARPET QUEEN:

She has hosted in-depth interviews with the Cast & Production Team of Tsotsi during the celebration of the 2006 Oscar victory for best foreign film; She has hosted Red Carpet interviews at the KORA All Music Awards- which is the biggest Music Awards show in Africa with over 4 billion viewers throughout Africa & Europe; She covered the 2006 Daytime Emmys in Hollywood on behalf of the South African Broadcasting Corporation. Uyanda also features on the independent musical comedy, Underground Music. She appears on SABC1’s drama series Tshisa. She is the only South African based TV Personality that features on international celebrity wire networks along big names such as Paris Hilton, Kanye West, Victoria Beckham & Kimora Lee Simmons to mention but a few.

She was featured on American Television shows including Fashion TV Red Carpet coverage during the 2006 Spring New York Fashion Week, Extra Television, the Steve Harvey Breakfast Show LiveBET J.

Uyanda has met & socialized with A-List Celebrities all over the world from Nicole Richie to Victoria Beckham.

She has also worked for the South African government as the Director for Communications at the Department of Housing before joining SABC1 to head Publicity & Events.

Uyanda Mbuli holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree, a Diploma in Sales & Marketing Management & a Certificate in Project Management.

She is one of the Shareholders of Agenda Communications.
